Baton Rouge, LA – April 24th, 2017
GIS Engineering, LLC has recently completed detailed engineering and design to quadruple the throughput of an existing amine plant at a large cryogenic natural gas processing and fractionation facility. This project is a prime example of GIS Engineering’s ability to adapt to the ever changing needs of our clients. Completed early this year, project challenges included an aggressive design schedule and an expedited tie-in and foundation package.
In the current oil and gas market, minimal downtime is of the utmost importance and requires a partner with streamlined processes and communication. In order to perform an early tie-in, the client requested GIS Engineering provide an expedited foundation and tie-in package before receipt of final equipment information. To further streamline the effort, GIS Industrial, LLC was awarded fabrication and construction. Our ability to leverage our in-house fabrication and construction groups proved vital to efficient design, constructability and streamlined communication from the office to the field.
GIS Engineering also proved its ability to handle out-of-state projects in a cost effective fashion. By self-performing a 3D scan of the facility (the first use of scanning technology for this client), GIS Engineering was able to complete the project with only one field visit aside from kick-off. Prior to the use of scanning technology, previous engineering providers relied on the existing 3D model without scanning which led to multiple installation issues.
Chuck Hamilton, Director of Engineering adds, “GIS Engineering is excited to demonstrate the value of partnering with an EPC provider. We look forward to meeting the challenges of today’s marketplace and continue exceeding client expectations”.
